"The Title track to my album Journey to Euskadi was a fairly easy song to write. A friend of mine who played professional guitar was actually coming through Elko - and he made a stop by my house and we just started tinkering with music. He started playing this guitar riff over and over - and the idea came so naturally. So in about an hour the song was written. It didn't require anything fancy - it was more of a sentiment of a trip that I had taken to the Basque Country, so the idea was always there but the melody never came to me until that day, so It's pretty magical when two musicians get together and the inspiration that occurs. It was a great song and that was a great day. So Journey To Euskadi came to be in a simple manner."
One of my my favorite venues is performing at the Folklife Center. The acoustics are always crisp and bright and the company is hands-down one of the best crowds around. Thank you Kenny Harriman!
Camero appearance with the band Southwind; featuring Carolyn on violin, Kenny Harriman on guitar and Susan playing an hourglass Dulcimer.
In October 2018, I was in Los Banos for a delegate meeting for NABO. We found our way to the Wool Grower's restaurant and the rest of the night went a little bit like this....
A little bit of pre-festival get-together. The Reno Basque festival is always a great time but kickoff before festival time is certainly one of my favorite venues.
